The Minnesota Vikings (11-2, 8-4-1 ATS) head into their Week 15 battle with the Carolina Panthers (5-8, 6-7 ATS) looking to keep pace with the New Orleans Saints for possible home field advantage in the playoffs. This NFC football betting battle can be seen nationally on NBC with kick-off set for 8:20 ET.

The Vikings look to put a better semblance of themselves on the field in this SNF’er than when they did against the Cardinals two weeks ago. The Vikings scored a 20-10 victory as 3.5-point home chalks against Carolina last season, and they’re 3-0 ATS against sub .500 teams this season. Carolina is 8-1 ATs its L/9 December games and 4-1 ATS its L/56 as an underdog, but has covered just 2 of their L/7 home games.

This SNF battle looked like the MIN/AZ one continued after QB Brett Favre was picked on the third play of the game. CAR set up shop on MIN’s 7-yard line, and RB DeAngelo Williams gave them a 7-0 lead before the Bank of America crowd could get comfy in their seats. The Vikes answered with a nice 10-play drive that saw them get on the board when K Ryan Longwell nailed a 19-yarder. The Panthers held a 7-3 lead after one quarter of play.

The 2nd quarter saw Minnesota dominate! The Panthers got a total of 7 snaps in as the Vikings defense harassed QB Matt Moore and forced two turnovers. RB Adrian Peterson grabbed the Vikes the lead after scampering 33-yards for the got ahead score. Longwell Added another FG, and the Vikes held a 13-7 lead at the break.

The Panthers cut the lead to three on their initial drive of the second half on a K John Kasay kick, but that was the closest they got throughout the remainder of the game. Minnesota answered the FG with a TD when Favre threw his first TD of the pass form 13-yards out to WR Sidney Rice. Longwell tacked on another FG, and the Vikes held a commanding 23-10 lead going into the final quarter of play.

The Panthers got into the Vikes red zone on their second drive of the quarter, but had the door slammed in their face when Moore tossed his second INT of the game. The Vikes turned the TO into points when QB Tarvaris Jackson threw a 27-yard TD pass to TE Visanthe Shiancoe. The scoring drive finished the games scoring, as the Vikes cruised to the NFL betting victory with ease.
